Dernier jour - March 31,2012

Déjà le dernier jour de mars... Un petit semadi tranquile... Dans la nuit j'ai rêvé qu'une princesse tout vêtue de blanc me visitait alors que j'étais au lit... ça m'a donné des belles idées pour un photo shoot... j'ai hâte de reprendre la caméra et de faire de Belles créations d'images... Et j'ai eu un super souper au resto en charmante compagnie. (8)

Poissons poissons - March 30, 2012

Le voisin est revenu de la pêche cet après-midi... impressionnant de voir le poisson qu'il a pêché... il nous en a offert mais la petite est allergique... et ça prends bien de la place dans le congélateur.
Un vendredi tranquile... un peu plus froid avec les vents... mais ça fait du bien de relaxer.

Hopital qui me fait chier - March 29, 2012

Le mois achève et c'est tant mieux. Le froid commence à briser à tous les jours et c'est aussi très bien. Je suis un peu écoeuré pour ne pas dire pas avec le système médical... à Iqaluit c'est l'enfer... tu trouves un bon médecin qui veut te revoir, mais le sytème t'empêche de le revoir... tu trouves un remplacement... tu prends rendez vous et tu es rappelé le même jour pour te faire dire qu'en fin de compte tu n'auras pas de rendez vous avec se médecin... il reste toujours de recommencer avec quelqu'un de nouveau qui te dira de revoir le premier que tu n'arrives pas à voir... ou qui te dira de ne pas conter ta vie parce que tu as 10 minutes et qu'elle est une folle qui ne fait pas diagnostic... (8.5)

Un jour décourageant... l'attente pour la chirurgie se poursuit... je n'aime pas appelé pour savoir.. ça me met à terre... une chance que ma poupette me supporte et me fait sourire... Ce soir, elle m'a redonné un sourire en faisant un parade de mode avec les nouveau vêtements qu'elle a reçu... elle est la meilleure..

Je pense à ma Belle - March 19, 2012

Quelle journée... je suis parti de la maison ce matin à 06h30... j'étais très fatigué et mélancolic de partir en laissant ma poupette adorée pour quelques jours. Elle me manque tellement lorsque je pars de la maison même lorsque le voyage est court. Alors, je savais que la météo était pas trop belle à Hall Beach... le vol est quand même partit sans problème... nous nous sommes rendues à Igloolik... puis là bas les choses ont tourné... le camion pour refaire le plein de l'avion a pris le champs... on le voyait à environ 500 m de l'aéroport pris dans la neige sur le côté de la route... le camion de First Ait était pris dans la neige en face de l'aéroport... la météo pendant ce temps... devenait misérable... de plus en plus... repartit de Igloolik directement vers Iqaluit... je suis revenu à la maison... passé près de 5 heures sans avoir été à Hall Beach.... en espérant un meilleur jour demain... mais ce se termine pas si mal alors que je vais passer la soirée avec ma Belle et lui préparer un bon repas.

Well my young man, left town today to undergo his last stretch of school. I think he had a good time spending a week here with family and friends. With everything I have scheduled over the next little while... time will fly as it always does.

My son is in town - March 16, 2012

Mon garçon était en ville cette semaine. Nous avons eu quelques repas en sa compagnie... quel plaisir. Il en a profité pour passer du temps avec ses chums. Il retournera pour ses dernières semaines de cours, avant de revenir dans quelques semaines avec une première année de collège complété. Je suis bien fier de lui.

Back home - March 14, 2012

My first complete day back home... crazy busy... But I had a wonderful lunch with my son, and he came home for supper. So nice to see him here, and he is already leaving on Saturday. He is busy himself, with fun, friends and snowmobiling.

Yesterday as foolish as it sounds, I was re-packing for my next trip... Monday morning departure at 07:30... it will be the last until April...

Last day of the adventure with Moe - March 13, 2012

There is nothing like meeting some smart ass on the road... I can never smile more than when I see these guys. One of them that I met on the road... he has been in Nunavut for 8 months and Mr. Know-it-all... travels standby because he does not have to make any booking, he just shows up at the airport... well this morning as the plane arriving from Resolute to get us out of Arctic Bay... Mr. Smarty Pants was on the flight from Resolute, and was asked to stay behind in Arctic Bay since he did not have a "confirmed ticket" to carry on to Iqaluit... you should have seen his face when they told him, he would not have a seat until the weekend... na na na...

Getting back home is wonderful and now cannot wait to chat with my son and my lovely girlfriend... on the photo.

Ouch - March 12, 2012

The weather has been great in Arctic Bay... cold but not much wind so half decent to do some outside stuff. To my surprise the pop ( soda, soft drink) already at sky rocking price at this time of the year... next sealift August...

Leaving Rez - March 11, 2012

We left Rez at 05:30 in the morning which was 04:30 in biologic time... Darn daylight saving time, why I had to travel on that weekend... Arriving to Arctic Bay was refreshing, nicer accommodation, a rental truck, and many friends around... it was a real nice and relax Sunday.

Saturday was a fun day... we did donuts with a twin-otter... waited about 4 hours for another plane... got a real bad meal in Resolute... what a great Saturday night in REZ....1-2-3 NOT.

People people - March 09, 2012

The trip goes well... works progressed today at a good pace. Maurice who travels with me, he is real great company... I am not the greatest on the trip, been sick and all. But for my part it has been pleasant beside the fact...too many people at the hotel... no time to think in my head, always someone around... only one phone available... always people who want to know, who snoop on you... Looking forward to move on the trip... tomorrow back to Resolute. A few photos will be good...

Well arriving to Grise Fiord... we were 4 people on the flight going to the hotel and the manager told us we were going to be 8 at the hotel... but it was 8 plus 8 and plus us 4 from the plane... and plus the 2 more who arrived on a charter before supper time... we were told to take any of the free rooms... but only one room was free and somehow clean... others were occupied or dirty-messy... so I got to share my supervisor... Got a bad cold... I must have been annoying for him... coughing, blowing my nose and tossing all night in my sheetless bed... I put a sheet when I noticed but a bed not tossed, and in a cold room... was not the greatest. Not a Best Western with 80 rooms... small place with 9 rooms.

Mechanical - March 07, 2012

It started with a minor change of the itinerary and we ended up in Hall Beach with a plane broken and sat there for 3.5 hours, got to Resolute past 22:30... but it did not break our good spirit. So tomorrow, a early rise for a not too late departure...

Tomorrow evening I will be in Resolute on my way to Greece... I will be far from my Beautiful girl friend... I will miss her so very much and will also miss my son coming to visit... he will be back home on Saturday...

Demain, je finalise la préparation au départ du prochain voyage. J'ai tellement de stock avec moi... it is crazy. J'aimerais bien que ma Belle soit du voyage, parce que Grise Fiord c'est unique... Arctic Bay c'est très beau... Resolute c'est bien spécial...

Wézo gros wézo - March 04, 2012

La photo c'est encore un wézo !!! Un dimanche plein de soleil, mais encore tellement froid... Nous ne sommes pas épargnés cette année. J'ai appris cet après-midi qu'une amie qui est demeuré ici au Nunavut, maintenant au Yukon... en était dans son dernier mois sur cette terre. C'est triste d'apprendre qu'un personne qu'on a cottoyoé, que ses enfants ont grandi avec les notres, que cette dernière a un cancer du cerveau et que les docteurs lui donnent un mois. Elle qui a été aidé sa soeur, il y a quelques années alors qu'elle souffrait d'un cancer. Eux qui ont fait parti de nos vies. Terry et Micheal, nous avons des pensées pour vous.

Ca fait déjà 13 ans - March 01, 2012

Il y a 13 ans aujourd'hui ma belle a perdu sa mère. Elle n'oubliera jamais celle qui a été sa maman.

Il me semble que je me promenais encore sur les ailes d'un HS-748... il n'y pas si longtemps... oui je me pleignais du bruit, de la chaleur, du froid... mais je n'ai jamais eu un mot sur la fiabilité de cet oiseau d'acier. Non plus jamais un mot sur le service des Capitaines, FO and FA... qui a été toujours des plus professionel.
